This year we had a low key birthday party for Avery. We just got back from the cruise and spent A LOT of money on it - plus we were exhausted so it was nice to just do something small. Since the lifeguards last year were pretty anal about how many guests we could have at the pool, we only invited a few people who live in the neighborhood to come swim with Avery for her bday. We are only allowed three guests and we exceeded that just with grandparents!
Dad came over again the day before and helped me make cake pops. Avery wanted pool party pops and they turned out cute although not as cute as the ones in the book. We couldn't get the wave to come out right. I thnk it's b/c I couldn't find the right size flower cookie cutter.
Before swimming all the family came over to open presents and sing happy birthday. Mark and I bought Avery a hamster, and since we thought hamsters like having friends, we bought him a friend for Addy. We later found out after Addy's tried to kill Avery's on several occasions that hamsters like living alone!
The girls love Maw Maw.
Addy has always favored Maw Maw since she was born. I'm not sure what it is, but she'll go to Maw Maw when she won't go to anyone else. Maw Maw eats it up.
We tried to get Korbyn in the pic but she didn't like the birthday hat.
Hayden made Avery a birthday card, then gave her 6 spankings afterward.
Everyone loved watching the hamsters in their new resort.
These two are something else. They love each other.
Overall Avery had a very nice birthday. There were so many friends she didn't get to invite b/c they didn't live in our neighborhood, but I promised her we would try to have play dates with them. At least all the family got to be there (except Grandpa Chuck)!
