Today was by far the best Alysse has done yet. First of all she flipped over all by herself. The cool part is that once she flips under the water, she kicks herself to the surface. Then she balances herself on her back until she's floating. Once on her back, she actually floated for TWO whole minutes without Shannon touching her once she dropped her in the water. It was incredible. Worth every penny.
She still struggles a bit to flip and she hasn't perfected the float every time. But I am confident now that she is getting it more and more each day. I think by the end of next week she will be doing it all on her own, without struggling or getting upset. Shannon said it's good for her to fuss a little b/c we will be able to hear her if she falls in the water. If she doesn't make a sound, we will not hear her at all and might not know she's in the water.
